We put the FUN in fundamentals!

A former D1 lacrosse player with over 10 years of coaching experience, Coach Leah is proud to be going into her 3rd year as head coach of the Bishop O'Connell girls' lacrosse team. ​

Her camp is designed to put the fun in fundamentals while blending an exciting mix of new drills and skills that will keep kids engaged from the first whistle to the last!

Camp Information

Monday, June 24- Friday June 28

9am-1pm
Arrival: 8:30 AM  

We will be on the Stadium Field at Bishop O'Connell HS, 6600 Little Falls Road, Arlington, VA 22213
Each day we will work on a new skill and build on fundamentals essential to the game of lacrosse! Campers will be divided into groups for stations based on age and also mixed into teams for camp wide competitions. Throughout the day, campers will participate in small group drills, stations, team competitions, games and more! We will spend most of the morning outside and will go inside for snacks/lunch. Our theme days will be lots of fun, especially our island day which may or may not involve a waterslide... 

 

Players will need:

  • NOCSE Approved Goggles/Eyewear/Girls Helmet

  • Mouthguard

  • Cleats or Turf Shoes

  • Stick (If you need one, we have limited availability for use)

  • Water Bottle

  • Reversible jersey 

  • Snacks (optional)

ABOUT COACH LEAH

Leah Brennan is a highly accomplished lacrosse player and coach. She played Division One lacrosse at American University, where she broke a record for single-season draw controls. Her exceptional skills led her to be voted Team MVP and Captain during her college career.
 

After graduating college, she began her coaching journey immediately at the high school varsity level first with Georgetown Visitation, and then at The Madeira School. She continues to serve as at Pride Lacrosse Club Coach and She is currently the head coach at Bishop O'Connell High School. Her coaching style emphasizes skill development, strategy, and teamwork. She creates a supportive and competitive environment, instilling discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship in her players.
 

Leah's dedication to her players' overall growth and well-being sets her apart as a mentor and role model. Her impact extends beyond the field, as she helps shape the lives of her players and inspires the next generation of lacrosse stars.
 

Overall, Leah Brennan's achievements as a player and coach in lacrosse showcase her unwavering commitment to the sport. Her record-breaking performances and leadership skills have earned her respect and admiration within the lacrosse community.

TEAMWORK

As a team sport, lacrosse is a great game to meet and grow lifelong friendships. It all starts on the field.

FUNDAMENTALS

Those new to the sport will learn the basics of lacrosse. Those with experience will fine tune their skills. Perfecting fundamentals makes every player better.

ADVANCED SKILLS

As players progress through the week we will introduce the more advanced skills, and fun games to try to grow and expand their level of play.

DEFENSE

Every great lacrosse player understands the essentials of sound defense.

We will cover this for every level, making sure no matter where you are on the field, you can defend your goal.

OFFENSE

Shooting drills and offensive techniques will be taught at every level. Everyone loves to score!

SPECIALTY 

Specialty positions are crucial to the game of lacrosse. In this camp, we will cover techniques specific to goalies, draw control, and free position shooting.
